What is a Blog (or a  Weblog)?

A blog is an online diary or log.

What is "let's blog!"?

It is a two-way () communication tool: from me to you and from you to me.

It is our way of talking in English outside of class.

It is a fun way for you to practice English away from school.

Everything you send me will be on this page!

Our blog will include fun and interesting activities, readings and exercises from the Internet that you can do at home when you feel like it (= quando te apetecer). You can also send me your suggestions of activities! I will publish them on this page.

So. . . when you have a suggestion, or something you would like to tell us, please click on the email icon on the right (the bottle). Don't forget to start your message with "Hello" or "Hi" and to include your name and class (7A, 7B, 7C) at the end! I will not publish anonymous messages!

Remember: We are in this together!

With your participation, this blog can be great fun!

Send in you first message right away and I will put it on this page immediately!

Let's blog!

Hi, kids! I have a piece of good news for you, I'm sure! I won't be there this coming week (Apri28-30), because I will be at the 17th APPI Conference in Sesimbra.

What is APPI? It's an association of several thousands of Portuguese teachers who teach English. We meet every year. I will be introducing Webheads in Action (click on the link and find my picture; then click on it and see the text), the online community I belong to. And I will try to contact them through voice chat. If things go well, they may be able to listen to what I will show my audience.

Don't forget to go back to school on your 'right foot'! And be prepared to work hard. It is a short term, only 9 weeks. See you on May 5!

We practiced adjectives and their opposites right before Easter. Why don't you try out some of these exercises? There are two different types of exercises: multiple-choice and matching.

And while you are at it (= e já que estás com a mão na massa), why not review verbs through images?

Hope you enjoy these activities!

Hello teacher!

I like your page. Well, "our" page. It's very nice to see the compositions. They are very good.

I see Ricardo Marques sugestion and I like it.

I stay at home in Easter. And you?

Happy Easter!!!   Ana Cláudia (7. C)

Re: Hello teacher!

Hi, Ana Cláudia!

It was great to get your message! :-)  And I'm glad you like to see your work (compositions) online.

Why don't you and Ricardo help me and send me suggestions of 'fun' sites in English? In the meantime, I will look for some and will post the links here a.s.a.p. (= as soon as possible).

I don't know about my Easter holidays yet. I need a good rest, because I am feeling very tired, so it would be good to go away for a few days!

Happy Easter to you and your family, Ana Cláudia!

Re: Hello teacher!

Hi, Miguel!

Thank you for your nice message. :-)  And a very happy Easter to you and your family!

I love to eat all those good things you mention: chocolate eggs, almonds. . . and folar with lots of butter on it! Yummy!

Remember: I will not be in school the last week of April, because I will be at a conference of Portuguese teachers of English. Yeah! The English teacher will be absent a whole week! See you in May!

Your English teacher

Here we go into into our last week before the Easter holidays! I have copied some of your texts on sports activities in a new page. I think it looks very nice. Take a look!

And I have also added the pronunciation of the simple past forms of all the regular verbs we have studied so far.
