Hi, everyone! How are the holidays going? Are
you all having fun?
Yesterday I went (=fui) to school for a meeting and I had this lovely bouquet of flowers from Susana J., 5F.
I was very happy and some of my colleagues

We are the vice
champions!!! Congratulations to our national team! You did a fabulous job yesterday at the Euro 2004 final and during the three weeks of the championship! Congratulations to Luiz Felipe Scolari and his technical team! You all did a great job in the Euro 2004. Congratulations to the organization. It was a fabulous championship! What a party we had in Portugal for three weeks! Congratulations to Portugal and the Portuguese people for making this possible, for the enthusiasm and amazing support that we all gave "our team" (= espantoso apoio que todos demos à "nossa selecção")! Finally, congratulations to Greece for a job well done in the Euro! This is the winning goal. The ball is on its way. . .!
Now it's time for our team to rest and then start working for the World Cup. We will all support you again with the same enthusiasm!!!

We are in the Euro 2004 final! We made it! (= Conseguimos!) These are the two men that made it possible. (= Estes são os dois homens que tornaram isso possível.) Congratulations!! And "thank you"!!!
We play with Greece on Sunday, July 4. It's going to be a fabulous game and I believe (= eu acredito) that we are going to win! We have a fabulous team and they have fabulous support (= apoio) from all the Portuguese people, here and abroad (= no estrangeiro). Hurrah for our national team! Hurrah for Portugal! FORÇA PORTUGAL!!!
